Privacy Policy
We're transparent about how we handle your data — from store information to escrow payment details to delivery records. This policy explains exactly what we collect, why, and how you can control it.
Overview
Vendopage is a global platform that helps vendors create permanent online stores and accept payments securely through escrow. When you use Vendopage — whether as a vendor, buyer, or visitor — you trust us with your information. We take that responsibility seriously.
This Privacy Policy applies to all users of Vendopage worldwide, including vendors who create stores, buyers who make purchases, and visitors who browse store pages.
We will never sell your personal data to third parties, use it for unrelated advertising, or share it without a legitimate reason. Your data powers your store and protects your transactions — nothing else.
What We Collect
We collect information you give us directly, information collected automatically when you use the platform, and — for Store Mode users — payment and transaction data.
Information you provide
Automatically collected
- Usage data — pages visited, features used, time spent on the platform
- Device info — browser type, operating system, screen resolution
- Network info — IP address, approximate geographic location (country/city level, used for currency auto-detection)
- Store analytics — how many times your store and individual products have been viewed
- Transaction records — order history, payment status, escrow status, and payout records for Store Mode users
How We Use Your Information
We use your information strictly to operate and improve Vendopage. Specifically:
- To run your store — displaying your products, generating your store URL, and making your catalogue visible to customers
- To process payments and escrow — holding funds securely, releasing them after delivery confirmation, and processing payouts to your bank account
- To facilitate delivery — sharing your delivery address with the seller so they can fulfil your order and sending you tracking details by email when the seller uploads them
- To communicate with you — sending account emails, order updates, tracking notifications, and security alerts
- To resolve disputes — reviewing order evidence and communication records when a dispute is raised
- To detect fraud — identifying suspicious activity and protecting both buyers and sellers on the platform
- To improve the platform — understanding how Vendopage is used helps us build better features
- To show you analytics — giving you data on how many people viewed your store and products
- To auto-detect currency — using your approximate location (from IP) to display prices in your local currency
We do not use your data to serve third-party advertisements and we do not build advertising profiles from your activity.
Escrow & Payment Data
When you use Store Mode — either as a buyer making a payment or a seller receiving one — we collect and process additional financial data:
For buyers
- Payment card or bank details are collected and processed by Flutterwave, our payment processor. Vendopage does not store your raw card details — they are tokenised by Flutterwave
- Your email address is used to send order confirmations, tracking notifications, and dispute communications.
- The amount paid and the order details are retained in our records for dispute resolution and payout management.
For sellers
- Your bank account number and name are collected and verified for the purpose of processing payouts. This data is stored securely and used only for payout disbursement.
- All escrow transactions — amounts held, amounts released, and payout records — are logged and retained for audit and dispute resolution purposes.
Card and bank payment processing is handled by Flutterwave. Their privacy policy governs how your payment card data is handled during the checkout process. Vendopage receives confirmation of successful payment but does not store raw card numbers.
Delivery & Tracking Data
For Store Mode orders, delivery data is collected and shared as part of the fulfilment process:
- Buyer's delivery address — collected at checkout and shared with the seller so they can ship your order. This address is stored with the order record and retained for dispute resolution.
- Seller's tracking details — the courier tracking number or driver's phone number uploaded by the seller is stored in the order record and automatically emailed to the buyer.
- Delivery confirmation — when a buyer confirms receipt, this is recorded and triggers the payout release to the seller.
Delivery address data is not shared with any third party beyond the seller fulfilling your order. It is not used for marketing or profiling.
Sharing Your Data
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We share your information only in the following circumstances:
Publicly visible by design
When you create a store on Vendopage, your business name, store URL, product listings, and profile picture are publicly visible — that's the purpose of the platform. You control what appears on your store page.
Between buyers and sellers (for orders)
When a Store Mode purchase is made, the buyer's delivery address is shared with the seller to fulfil the order. The seller's tracking details are shared with the buyer via email. This sharing is necessary to complete the transaction.
Flutterwave (payment processing)
Payment transactions are processed by Flutterwave. Relevant transaction data (amount, order reference, seller account) is shared with Flutterwave for the purpose of processing payments and payouts.
Other service providers
We work with trusted third-party providers for cloud hosting, email delivery, and analytics. These providers are contractually bound to use your data only to provide services to us.
Legal requirements
We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of Vendopage, our users, or the public.
Business transfers
If Vendopage is acquired or merges with another company, your data may transfer as part of that transaction. We will notify you before this happens and you will have the option to delete your account.
Storage & Security
Your data is stored on secure servers with industry-standard protections including encryption at rest and in transit (HTTPS/TLS), access controls, and regular security reviews.
Financial and transaction data (escrow records, payout history, order records) is retained for a minimum of 5 years for regulatory and audit purposes, even after account deletion.
All other personal data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, non-financial personal data is deleted within 30 days.
We implement strong security practices, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at support@vendopage.com or WhatsApp us at +234 701 782 0434.
Cookies
Vendopage uses cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in, remember your preferences, and understand how the platform is used. We use:
- Essential cookies — required for the platform to function (login sessions, security tokens, cart state). These cannot be disabled.
- Analytics cookies — help us understand how vendors and visitors use Vendopage so we can improve it. No personally identifiable information is shared with analytics providers.
We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. You can control non-essential cookies through your browser settings, though disabling certain cookies may affect platform functionality.
Your Rights
Regardless of where you live, you have rights over your personal data:
- Access — you can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction — you can update your account information at any time from your dashboard
- Deletion — you can delete your account from your account settings. Note that financial/transaction records are retained for regulatory purposes as described above.
- Portability — you can request your data in a portable format
- Opt-out — you can unsubscribe from non-essential marketing emails at any time
- Objection — you can object to certain types of data processing
To exercise any of these rights, email us at support@vendopage.com. We will respond within 30 days.
If you are in the EU, UK, Nigeria, or other regions with specific data protection laws (GDPR, NDPA, PDPA, LGPD, etc.), you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Children's Privacy
Vendopage is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the applicable minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. Vendor accounts require users to be at least 18 years old.
If we become aware that a child has provided us with personal information without parental consent, we will delete that data promptly. Please contact us at support@vendopage.com if you believe this has occurred.
International Users
Vendopage is a global platform serving vendors in every country. By using Vendopage, you acknowledge that your data may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, where data protection laws may differ.
We take appropriate safeguards to ensure your data is protected regardless of where it is processed, consistent with applicable laws in your region.
We are actively working toward compliance with regional data protection frameworks including GDPR (EU/UK), NDPA (Nigeria), PDPA (Thailand/Philippines), LGPD (Brazil), and others as our platform grows.
Policy Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. When we make significant changes, we will notify you by email and update the date at the top of this page.
Your continued use of Vendopage after any changes indicates acceptance of the updated policy. If you disagree with changes, you may delete your account before they take effect.
